Over time, coatings can yellow and stain. Kynar AquatecTM emulsion based coating has excellent resistance to the penetration of stains on various substrates. Figures 1 and 2 show before and after differences in stain resistance of white Kynar AquatecTM coating and acrylic-based elastomeric basecoat on SBS asphalt substrate. After a one-week bake period, the Kynar AquatecTM retains its white color while the elastomeric basecoat yellows due to the migration of plasticizers from the asphalt substrate.
