Outstanding chemical resistance
Membranes

Kynar® PVDF and Kynar Flex® PVDF resins are available in powder or pellet form for the production of microporous membranes.

Kynar® resins are abrasion resistant, strong and flexible, resistant to radiation, and durable. These resins can be solvent-cast in flat sheet, hollow fiber or tubular construction. Certain grades of Kynar® PVDF and Kynar Flex® PVDF resins comply with FDA 177.2510 and 177.2600 for repeated use. Applications for Kynar® PVDF membranes include microfiltration and ultrafiltration in the food and beverage, dairy, alcohol and spirits, power, battery, waste water, potable water, medical, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, nuclear, and general chemical industries. Particularly notable is the excellent chemical resistance to chlorinated cleaning agents and other disinfectants.

  • Kynar® PVDF resin has a 40-year track record in successful membrane applications.
  • Quick dissolution of Kynar® PVDF resin facilitates better productivity during membrane fabrication.
  • Kynar® PVDF resin has outstanding resistance to ozone, chlorine, and cleaning agents, making it a material of choice for water treatment plants.
  • Kynar® PVDF resin meets standards for direct food and beverage contact.
  • Kynar® PVDF resin can handle temperatures up to 150°C depending on chemical service and product design.
  • Kynar® PVDF is resistant to ionizing radiation for use in nuclear and biopharma applications.
  • Kynar® PVDF resin is available in a wide range of solution viscosities, including Kynar® HSV, providing more options to membrane fabricators.
