Inherently Dissipative Polymers (IDPs) are widely used as permanent antistatic additives where they reduce electrostatic discharge and dust attraction in plastic parts and packaging. Arkema has two established antistatic grades of Pebax® resin, MV1074 and MH1657, which impart permanent and immediate antistatic properties.  Today, Arkema adds two more grades, Pebax® MH2030 and Pebax® MV2080, which offer even higher conductivity and impart a very low surface resistance.

Applications, such as the packaging of sensitive electronics or industrial packaging for flammable or explosive materials, require plastics with high static dissipative performance as well and good mechanical and optical properties.

Arkema has developed two new high performance antistatic polymer grades, Pebax® MH2030 and Pebax® MV2080, which offer higher conductivity and lower surface resistance into the range of 106 Ohms.

These improved antistatic properties offer higher performance by giving better static dissipative properties to end products, or reduced additive loadings for the same level of antistatic performance, while preserving the properties of the host matrix.

New static dissipative Pebax® MH2030 and Pebax® MV2080 retain all the key properties expected of existing antistatic Pebax® grades including immediacy, permanence and stability over a large window of relative humidity. Pebax® MH2030 and Pebax® MV2080 can be chosen depending on the host matrix and the end application.  Pebax® MV2080 is particularly suited to applications requiring high cleanliness and very low out gassing.

All antistatic Pebax® grades can be added directly by dry-blend for injection or extrusion in a wide range of polymers (e.g., PA, PP, PE, ABS, PC/ABS, PET, PS, TPU, PMMA, or PVC).

A global chemical company and France’s leading chemicals producer, Arkema consists of three businesses: Vinyl Products, Industrial Chemicals, and Performance Products. Arkema reports sales of 5.6 billion euros. Arkema has 15,000 employees in over 40 countries and six research centers located in France, the United States and Japan. With internationally recognized brands, Arkema holds leadership positions in its principal markets.
