Extreme Temperature Stability of Rilsan® Polyamides

Rilsan® polyamides withstand high temperatures. Rilsan® PA 11 offers greater high temperature stability than PA 12, and can be used continuously at 125ºC and withstand peaks of 150ºC in certain conditions.

At low temperatures, Rilsan® PA 11 maintains its impact resistance at -40ºC. For extreme conditions, Arkema has developed grades that can withstand temperatures of -60ºC! Rilsan® PA 11 is the only polyamide in the world capable of withstanding such harsh environments.

Due to inherent cohesion strength, Rilsan® PA 11 features high heat distortion temperatures under load, higher than PA 12.

For any given formulation, Rilsan® PA 11 boasts a higher Vicat softening temperature than Rilsan® PA 12. This temperature, which depends on molding conditions, varies significantly based on plasticizer level used in the polyamide.
