Welcome to the world of Arkema Canada. We have two facilities in Canada.

Burlington, Ontario is the location of our sales office. We market a wide range of chemical products for use in a variety of applications serving a broad cross-section of Canadian industry and consumer needs. Our activities at this location are centered on our Industrial Chemicals and Performance products. The majority of products produced by these business units have a high degree of technical service involved in their marketing.

Arkema Canada has been in Ontario since 1957 - first as Pennsalt, then under the Pennwalt banner and finally in our present form as a subsidiary of Arkema S.A.

In Bécancour, Quebec we have a world scale hydrogen peroxide plant. The plant operates around the clock, 365 days a year and produces primarily 35%, 50% and 70% hydrogen peroxide solutions. Manufactured through leading-edge technology, these products are used as bleaching or antiseptic agents in a wide variety of industries such as pulp and paper, textile, food processing, mining and metallurgy, as well as the environmental sector.

The Bécancour plant began operating in 1986 as Oxychem Canada Inc., and, at that time, was owned by Air Liquid S.A. and Elf Atochem S.A. In 1992 the company was renamed Chemprox Chemical Inc. In 1998 Elf Atochem Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Elf Atochem North America became sole owner. The Canadian head office is located in Becancour, Quebec and has an American head office in Philadelphia, PA. In June 2000 our name was changed to ATOFINA Canada Inc., part of the TotalFina Elf Group. In 2004 our name was changed to Arkema Canada Inc.  In 2006 Arkema separated from TOTAL and became a publicly held company.
