Microprocessing Laboratory

The Microprocessing laboratory at Arkema offers a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment for single- and twin-screw extrusion, compounding, compression molding, micropelletization, film-making and injection molding, all done at small scales.

These tools help to accelerate the development of new blends, composites, additives and pigments, and facilitate the mechanical properties evaluation of newly synthesized materials that are only available in small quantities.

Our Microprocessing laboratory testing services allow investigation of:
  • Polymer blends
  • Nanomaterials
  • Dispersed systems
  • Cast films and fibers

Thin film extrusion can be accomplished with 5g of material or less.Microprocessing studies represent a modern solution to bring cost and time savings to researchers, process engineers, and production managers.

The microprocessing laboratory at Arkema can simulate conditions of industrial-scale processing equipment with greater data access, process control and flexibility, to allow troubleshooting of problems with minimal downtime and production loss.

Rapid product development can be achieved using a platform of techniques suitable for small quantities of materials (5-200 g).
